Kurt Faber was a German adventurer who wrote of his travels in the Arctic, South America, and India. This title describes his experiences aboard the whaling ship "Bowhead" in the Arctic. After a difficult winter with the ship stuck in ice at Herschel Island, Canada, Faber leaves overland for San Francisco and details his journey and life among the Eskimos along the way.
