Originally published in 1606 as: Christs prayer expounded, a Christian directed, and a communicant prepared.

"A communicant instructed" has separate dated title page and pagination; "A direction to liue well", "A direction to die well" and "A funerall elegie" each have separate dated title pages and continuous pagination; register is continuous throughout.

This edition adds deathbed declarations of faith by Anne Downame and John White, D.D. --STC.

"The funerall elegie" by Josuah Sylvester is in honor of Margaret, wife of Robert Hill.
