Opera Society of Washington, world premiere "Bomarzo," an opera in two acts, opus 34 by Alberto Ginastera, with libretto by Manuel Mujica Lainez, by arrangement with Boosey and Hawkes, Inc., publisher and copyright owner, Lisner Auditorium, sponsored by George Washington University. The Opera Society Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Julius Rudel, production conceived and directed by Tito Capobianco, assisted by Elena Denda, scenery designed by Ming Cho Lee, costumes designed by Jose Varona, choreography by Jack Cole, assisted by Buzz Miller, technical direction by James D. Waring, musical assistant: Antonio Tauriello.
