Arrangement: Part 1: 1 unnumbered leaf, 24 folded leaves of plates mostly showing equestrian drills, horsemanship, paces and gaits of horses; Part 2: 2 unnumbered folded leaves, 11 folded leaves of plans; Part 3: 2 unnumbered leaves (1 folded), 37 folded leaves of plans; General Code of Bugle and Drum Calls and Signals: xv folded leaves of music; Part 4: 2 unnumbered folded leaves, 12 folded leaves of plans.
Title pages show Russian imperial crest, the double-headed eagle with equestrian coat of arms under a crown. Some illustrations in Part 1 show the crest of Nicholas I (NI) on horses' saddles.
LC copy in library buckram; bound four volumes in one, as it was in the library of G.V. Yudin. All leaves except the title page for part 3 are folded. The description in Yudin's handwritten card file (stored in LC's European Division) gives 12 plates in Part 2; 38 plates in Part 3; 13 plates in Part 4.
