"These papers would be of interest to anyone working on magnetic confinement, both in fusion and astrophysical contexts. In particular the statistical physics aspects are important and these have here been put into a framework directly applicable to magnetic confinement of plasma. The workshop focused on nonlinear phenomena in magnetized plasmas, mainly tokamaks but also with application to the dipole configuration. Both global stability (MHD) and transport were considered. The problems studied were generally very fundamental and can be seen as the theory behind most up to date work on magnetic confinement"--Publisher's Web site.
