This is a rare day-to-day account by a young German squadron leader in Jagdstaffel 35 during the grim last year of the war. Originally published in 1933, it provides minute descriptions of kills, losses and the Germans' step-by-step retreat in the face of increasingly overwhelming Allied forces in the air.

Edition Notes
Publishing History: Wings of War by Rudolf Stark was first published as Die Jagdstaffel unsere Heimat-Ein Flieger-Tagebuch aus dem letzen Kriegsjahr, in Leipzig, Germany by K.F. Koehler Verlag in 1932. It was first published in the UK (translated by Claud W. Sykes) by John Hamilton Ltd in 1933. This edition features all new typesetting and the illustrations have been re-originated from the German first edition of the book to give a much sharper, cleaner presentation. The text of the original book is unchanged and therefore may feature expressions and sensibilities that are at some distance from what is considered politically correct today.
