Al- Hadir was, in the seventh century, a hamlet dependent city Qinnasrin , eponymous capital of the administrative district of northern Syria . The issue of identification of al- Hadir with City Hadir Qinnasrin mentioned in the medieval texts is reviewed in the light of discoveries made in this area. The analysis of the general topography of the site and excavation areas is supplemented by contributions from specialists charge of the study of archaeological materials: ceramics, glass, objects, inscriptions, human and animal bones. These studies provide rare and unpublished information to the knowledge of the material culture of the beginnings of the Islamic era.
