An official translation, mandated by the government of Venice (which governed Cyprus 1489-1573) to accommodate the change of official language from French to Italian begun in 1480, of the governing document, Assises de Jérusalem, which was enacted in the 13th cent. to govern the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem (1099-1244) and Cyprus.
