After diving overboard during a mutiny on his uncle's pirate ship, Jack Hubbard, son of Old Mother Hubbard, is rescued from a stormy sea by an Owl and a Pussycat in a pea-green boat, and meets other characters from fairy tales and nursery rhymes while searching for hidden treasure.
