The volumes I, III pt. 1, VI pt. 1, VI pt. 2, VIII pt. 1, IX, X, XIV–XV, XVII pt. 1, XX pt. 1, XXIX pt. 1 are the only ones of this series published by the University of Pennsylvania. The numbers of these volumes were laid out by Professor H. V. Hilprecht as a part of an extended series.
The volumes XXX pt. 1 and XXXI were issued by him after his connection with the University museum was severed, but these were not authorized by the museum, and were published by Rudolf Merkel of Erlangen, Germany.

The work is continued by the Babylonian section of the University museum, under title: Publications of the Babylonian section.
