The plates include engravings depicting contemporary figures, one large folding plate titled "Idea dell' Universo", a frontispiece portrait of Coronelle, an engraved title and half title.
The "Cronologia universale" was supposed to be used with Coronelli's "Biblioteca universale", initially designed to comprise 45 volumes, but of which only 7 were published.
The large folding plate titled "Idea dell' Universo" is accompanied by an uncut sheet of volvelles. The dedicatory cartouche at bottom is left blank.
