Dated at foot of broadsheet: Para el dia 8. dia de marzo en la iglesia de S[an] Juan de Dios.

Broadside seeking donations to restore an artwork of the San Juan de Dios hospital in Lima. The Hospital Order of San Juan de Dios was founded in 1586 and is still active today in charity work. This broadside is requesting donations for the repair and retouching of a tapestry or painting depicting the life of San Juan de Dios.

According to the Lima la única website (http://www.limalaunica.pe/2013/05/la-orden-hospitalaria-de-san-juan-de.html), as per an inventory from the year 1700, in their Hospital de San Diego in Lima, in the cloister there was a painting of San Juan de Dios, and in the infirmary was another painting on the wall. It is, perhaps, one of these two artworks which the order was soliciting donations for its restoration.

Dating of this broadside can be put into the later half of the 18th century because of the quality of the type and the paper; suggested dates of publication from the bookseller are between 1774 and 1778 but these cannot be substantiated.
