"[The exhibition] may be considered ... a collateral offspring of the International Exhibitions of 1851 and 1862. In those undertakings the Working Classes were chiefly represented by their employers ... consequently, a fair representation of the Working Classes did not take place till the inauguration of the North London Industrial Exhibition"--P. 11.

In addition to cuts of some items exhibited, the wood engraved ill. include full-page ports. of W.J. Watts (hon. sec.), Earl Russell, William Gladstone and the Earl of Shaftesbury; views of the interior and exterior of the Agricultural Hall, Liverpool Road, where the exhibition was held; depiction of a boxwood jewel casket by W.H. Baylis. Some ill. include signatures: AN; H. Catenacci / E. Morice ; JB; Murden & Chase.

Publisher's binding of textured purple cloth, printed in gold. The edges gilt.
