Title is binder's spine title.

1st suite has title sheet and 5 numbered prints depicting Roman military trophies (images ca. 12 x 20 cm. or smaller). Title: Opere di Polidoro da Caravaggio / disegnate et intagliate da Gio. Baptista Galestruzzi. Print 5 has title "Trofei di Polidoro" and is dated 1658. Title sheet is 3rd state, with legend: Si stampano da Vincenzo Billy in Roma; see The illustrated Bartsch 4606.041 S3. Another copy of this suite (incomplete) is included under GRI record 900107.

2nd suite. Six numbered prints, 5 of which depict articles of Roman dress displayed between pairs of vases (images 11.5 x 18.5 cm. or smaller). The last depicts 3 statues of ancient Romans. Print 6 dated is 1660 (misbound as 12th print following print 5). Another copy of this suite (incomplete) is cataloged under GRI record 900107.

3rd suite. Six numbered prints on subjects from ancient history and mythology (images 12 x 17 or smaller). Prints 4 & 6 are 2nd state; see The illustrated Bartsch 4606.006 S2 and 4606.008 S2. Fourth print misbound as 5th print following print 6. Another copy of this suite is cataloged under GRI record 91-F90.

4th suite. Five etchings by Giovanni Francesco Venturini after drawings by Gallestruzzi taken from Polidoro's frescoes. They depict Roman soldiers, Saturn devouring one of his children, & 2 other subjects. Four prints are vertically oriented, measuring 15.8 x 11.3 cm. or smaller. The last is 14.9 cm. square. From the 1670's or later.

5th suite. Five etchings by Galestruzzi joined together at right and left margins to form a depiction Polidoro's frieze, named in The illustrated Bartsch "The history of Niobe." The compound sheet measures 20.5 x 129 cm., tipped onto a stub at the centerfold. Section 3 is 4th state, with the name of Arnoldo van Westerhout (1651-1725) at foot as publisher. The other 4 sections are 3rd state. See Illustrated Bartsch 4606.018 S4.

6th suite. Eight prints (images 14.3 cm. x 45.2 cm. or slightly smaller), mounted on stubs at the centerfolds. Drawn and etched by Pietro Santi Bartoli after the frieze on Palazzo Gaddi, Rome, painted by Polidoro da Caravaggio with the assistance of Maturino Fiorentino. Published at Rome by Giovanni Giacomo de Rossi. The suite appears in the de Rossi Indice of 1677, but may date from the early years of Giovanni Giacomo's activity (i.e. the 1650's); see Indice delle stampe de' Rossi, p. 36. The title in the de' Rossi's Indice of 1735 is: Fregio dipinto incontro la Maschera d'Oro. The subject of print 3 is given in the legend as: Aegyptiorvm sive Afrorvm peregrinatio, and that of print 8 as: Navalis pvgna ad Tiberis ostia. P.L. de Castris suggests that these may refer to the mythical migration of the Etruscans to Italy (Polidoro da Caravaggio, p. 499). Another copy of this suite is cataloged under Getty record 90-F72.

The illustrated Bartsch, v. 46 (commentary), 4606.003-008, 4606.041-046, 4606.047-052, 4606.016-020
