Constitutes the fifth part of Theodor de Bry's Small voyages, printed in 13 parts and an Appendix in Frankfurt am Main and Oppenheim from 1597 to 1633.
This work has been identified as the first issue of the sole Latin edition of part five of the Small voyages by Church.
There are two issues of the sole Latin edition of part 5 as identified by Church: the first has plates numbered I-XX printed on recto only; the second issue has some of the plates numbered I-XX printed on recto and verso.
This part contains an account of a voyage to the East Indies made by Jacob Cornelisz Neck (or van Neck) and Wybrandt van Warwijk, in 1598-1599.
Translation of: Journael ofte dagh-register, inhoudende een waerachtigh verhael vande reyse ghedaen 1598 / by Jacob Cornelisz van Neck and Wijbrant van Warwyck, first printed Amsterdam, 1601.
Pages 57-60 contain a list of vocubulary in the Malay language and the Javanese language with its translation into Latin; also contains numerals in the language of the Maluku islands with their equivalents in Latin.
