Caption title: On the Baltimore rail-road carriage, invented by Ross Winans, Esq., and the manner of adapting it to streets, also on cheap rail-roads. It was under this title that p. [1]-9 appeared in the Journal of the Franklin Institute, n.s., v. 3, no. 4 (Apr. 1829), p. 231-240.
Included with this reprint are: "Specification of an improvement or combination in the art of constructing rail roads, whereby timber employed therein may be increased in durability," signed J.L. Sullivan, Philadelphia, 17th April 1829; a letter to the editor of the Pennsylvania Gazette on rail road carriages, unsigned, dated Philadelphia, April 6, 1829; and "On a recent pamphlet entitled 'Sketch of a geographical route of a great railway' (From the Hudson to the Mississippi, printed by the Messrs. Carvills, New York)"
