Der vorliegende Band versteht sich als Monographie der «Kosmiker» Derleth, George, Klages, Schuler und Wolfskehl. Der Band möchte:
-
Jedes Mitglied der Männerunde in seiner Eigenständigkeit und Unverwechselbarkeit vorstellen;
-
Die Interdependenz der Kosmiker und ihren gruppendynamischen Prozeß erhellen;
- Die Männerrunde in den Kontext des Schwabinger Anti-Wilhelminismus rücken und speziell ihre Bedeutung für den (Prä-)Faschismus herausarbeiten.
Vor allem aber möchte er die Kosmiker charakterisieren und kritisieren im Blick auf Franziska Gräfin zu Reventlow, welche ein Stück weit zu ihnen gehörte, hauptsächlich jedoch ihre Antipodin war.
