Edition Notes

"To Giovanni Mardersteig on his eightieth birthday from his friends."

"The idea for this book and its subject came from Hans Schmoller. The passages were selected by Nicolas Barker, who also wrote the linking text. The whole was set in Dante at the Curwen Press, Plaistow. Reynolds Stone engraved the device on the title-page. One hundred copies were printed by Will and Sebastian Carter."
