After the sudden death of painter Claudio Bravo (b. Valparaso 1936, moved toTangiers, Morocco in 1970 - d. 2011), Corporacin Cultural de Las Condes decided to completely modify its year calendar and organize a homage exhibition entitled "Claudio Bravo.The Chilean years 1951 - 1960 " comprising a selection of close to 60 drawings and paintings done in Concepcin and Santiago from the early production of the artist, when hewas still living in Chile, some exhibited before in 2005 and a others from private collections and exhibited for the first time. Claudio Bravo, a disciple of Miguel Venegas hadhis first exhibition when he was 18 years old. Living since 1961 in Europe and later in Morocco since the 1970's, the master art of Claudio Bravo was already highly appreciatedall over the world. However, in Chile he was only recognized until 1994 after an the exhibitionheld at the MNBA. The catalogue includes the technical records of the two documentaries onthe master painter: the first, "Claudio Bravo, la pupila del alma", produced by Hugo Arvalo,featuring a recorded video testimonial of the artist. The second "Claudio Bravo en Marruecos", is Philippe Aubert's film about the master's life and work with an emphasis on his creativeenvironment in Marrakech, Taroudant and Tangiers.
