Terra incognita - Latin term for "unknown territory", used in cartography to mark regions never mapped or documented. The expression first appeared in the 16th century. In his second book, photographer and architect Eduardo Mello uses the term "Terra incognita" as the guiding thread of his narrative. He departs from downtown São Paulo, where the Caminho Peabiru began (an indigenous route connecting the Atlantic to Cusco), and transits through references from Colonial Brazil on a journey in search of his ancestral origins.
