The first play was published in 1490[?] under the title: La Dure et cruelle bataille et paix du glorieux sainct Pensart à l'encontre de Caresme. The second is attributed to Jehan d'Abundance and was written ca. 1540. According to the introduction, they are the two remaining examples of the dramatic genre known as jeu de Carnaval.
