Ruraisʺ presents 98 black and white photographs of several rural workers from four Brazilian states (São Paulo, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul and Minas Gerais) in their work environments. Several of the photographs are accompanied by original essays-poems-chronicles written by Antonio Mozeto as a narrative about rural life in Brazil that reflect the experience of photographic sessions with rural workers portrayed in the book, as well as the memories of the author's childhood and adolescence, lived in rural areas in the municipality of Borborema, SP. Antonio A. Mozeto was born in a rural area (Bairro Fugidas) of the municipality Borborema, state of São Paulo, in 1947. The story of the city says that the stream that crosses it received the name of Ribeirão dos Fugidos in reference to a small quilombo of escaped slaves who existed nearby. Borborema was called Ribeirão dos Fugidos village until 1909, when moved to the district level, then receiving the name you have today.
