Includes "Spiegazione delle VI. tavole delle antichità di Pesto" (plate [1], 2nd group of plates). The "Spiegazione" is reprinted from Baron Giuseppe Antonini's La Lucania (Naples, 1745), "par. II, disc. III, pag. 220."

Avery Classics copy: Includes engraved port. of Ferdinando IV, engraved by Filippo Morghen, probably extracted from Morghen's Le Antichità di Pozzuoli, Baja, e Cuma (Napoli, 1769). Avery Classics copy is from the Holland House collection, bound in half-calf with marbled boards, gilt-stamped emblem of Holland House (fox) and gilt-stamped label with title "Views of Pestum," on spine. Bears engraved armorial bookplate of Holland House.
