Moe Bowstern draws upon Roman Catholic, Orishan and Wiccan traditions in this zine about candle-making. The primary inspirations behind Bowstern's zine are Roman Catholic nine-day prayers, known as novenas. Each page contains a black and white drawing associated with a deity or ideal/concept, and an associated myth, folktale, or anecdote from Bowstern's own life. Topics discussed in the zine include the myth of Cerberus, monogamy, self-harm, and more. Readers are instructed to cut out each drawing, color it, and wrap it around a candle in order to attract spiritual energies, thereby furthering their "quests for fulfillment." This zine also contains a "ROY G. BIV" page, in which Bowstern outlines the significance of each color in Catholic, Orishan an Wiccan cultures. --Alekhya
