This book shows ritual objects and the meaning they have for the Andean communities, the highlands and the mountains of the Arica region, in order to get closer to the culture and devotions of the inhabitants of this area, which is the result of miscegenation. between the Andean worldview and a western religiosity, imposed, and already mestizo from its origins. Virgins, saints and saints, are venerated in the temples of the southern Andean highlands, and are of vital importance in festivals, processions and other rituals, not only of the Catholic calendar, but also of the ancestral agricultural calendar of these communities.
