"This publication concentrates on the issue of 'places' in everydayness and places of everyday life - both private and public, temporary and long-term, understood literally and metaphorically. We were interested - from an aritstic and research perspective - in the way they shape our experiences of everydayness; how they influence mundane activities, but also how they are transformed through repeated practices or one-off events. We wanted to consider what role objects and things play in relations between people and places. Are they merely a supplement or fulfillment of human activity, or perhaps they mediate the way we perceive our actions in space and the way we organize it. Very simply, we decided to orientate the reflections in the book around the mutual connections and influences amongst people, places, and objects, rooted within the context of everyday life in Poland."--from introduction
