"Gentlemen: You were among the first of my friends, to solicit the publication of that part, at least, of my argument before the Synod of Cincinnati, which went to shew, from the language' of the Bible, that Slavery is tolerated therein; and not made a ground of excommunication from the church. The copy is now at your service."
