At foot: "Cases may be had gratis, and donations are taken in at the Royal-Exchange Coffee-House in Threadneedle Street; at Lloyd's Coffee-House in Lombard-Street; at St. Dunstan's Coffee-House in Fleet-Street; at Mr. Say's, printer in Newgate-Street, and at Mr. Francis Roberts's in Aldermanbury Postern, who is appointed treasurer for carrying on the prosecution."
Concludes: "Feb. 8th, 1753. Virtue Hall, one of the women sworn to by Elizabeth Canning, made a confession of the whole before the worshipful Judge Fielding."
Docketed in type on the verso in the manner of an official petition.
The cases of Elizabeth Canning and Mary Squires were tried in 1753; probably the earliest printed account of the case (No. 1 in Hugh Amory's bibliography of Canning-related publications, appearing on the verso of the broadside issued for the 1987 exhibiton The Virgin & the witch : an exhibition at the Harvard Law School Library of materials from the Hyde Collection and Harvard libraries on the celebrated trial of Elizabeth Canning).
