Although for anthropology the study of the "Divine King" has a deep roots that has motivated major essays that are among the classics of the discipline, few are the studies that have dealt with this topic in Mesoamerica and the. Not wanting to leave these neglected areas, particularly the Andean, following the guidelines of Frankfort the author has allowed himself to venture into this field to on the basis of his comparative style highlight some peculiarities that trace paths that can be deepened by other researchers. Seeming an interesting suggestion to characterize the Inca monarchy has made this contrast one of the central themes of this book and as a means to this end, he has used the myths, symbols, ritual paraphernalia that accompanied it, as well as the social plane of the panacas and Inca history following the footprint of the works of the Dutch anthropologist Tom Zuidema. Finally, to highlight more precisely the peculiarity, the author attempts a comparison with other Mesoamerican monarchies, particularly that of the Aztecs and the Maya.
