An edition of Rendez-vous (2020)

Rendez-vous

Rendez-Vous' centres on encounters: those between Voorlinden and its visitors, between the art and viewers and between the artists and the works themselves. In this presentation of selected works from the museum's own collection works of art come together like lovers, embracing and lending one another strength -- and occasionally clashing as well. These encounters walk a fine line between convergence and confrontation, between duet and duel. This catalogue contains detailed explanations of all the works, with photographs showing all the art in detail. Director Suzanne Swarts tells more about the background of the exhibition. The catalogue also includes a poem by Hugh Lewin. With works by: Etel Adnan, Darren Almond, Oliver Beer, McArthur Binion, Joseph Cornell, John DeAndrea, Berlinde De Bruyckere, Tracey Emin, Leandro Erlich, Lara Favaretto, Dan Flavin, Anya Gallaccio, Shilpa Gupta, Subodh Gupta, William Kentridge, Guillermo Kuitca, René Magritte, Maha Malluh, Robert Mangold, Jacco Olivier, Pablo Picasso, Abraham Poincheval, Jeff Wall and Jonas Wood. Exhibition: Museum Voorlinden, Wassenaar, The Netherlands (01.06.-25.10.2020).
