In a territory historically marked by earthquakes, geological accidents and borders, architecture has manifested itself with various expressions across time. An expression nuanced by sociocultural processes that have defined lines and postures that have been translated into urban images and architectural production. Within the many changes experienced in the national and regional architecture of the 20th century, we find ourselves with the appearance of the woman in the profession, which has been incorporated since the creation of several aristas associated also with politics and art, giving attention to multiple concerns and convictions intertwined that were captured in this territory and with the passage of years, hidden and denied by monothematic lectures and absent from criticism. A complex job carried out by female creators who faced off against patriarchal models, ignorant visions and a forgetfulness that has reverted to an ever more significant valuation of the work of the Biobio architects. "In 1877 the decree Decreto Amunátegui allowed women to enter the university system and gradually signed in areas such as medicine and education. Architecture was still a male-dominated terrain and it was not until 1930 that the first Chilean architect was titled: Dora Riedelʺ (HKB Translation) --Page [30]
