Edition Notes

A re-impression (from the same typesetting) of Bagster's "Polymicrian edition" of 1829. "This edition ... gives the T.R. [i.e. received text] as printed in Mill's edition (1707), with variants drawn from Griesbach's minor edition (1805), the themes of difficult words, the more important elliptical words, and a selection of references" (D. & M.).

This issue has Bagster's address on the title page followed by the motto in Latin and Greek: "Multae terracolis linguae, coelestibus una. Pollai men thnētois glōttai, mia d' athanatoisin."

The first three words of the title are transliterated from the Greek.
