Rare Book copy: In contemporary French binding of full tan goatskin, sewn on five cords; upper and lower covers gilt with triple-line fillet frame; spine gilt in compartments, with five raised bands that correspond to the sewing supports; inner joint of tan goatskin; turn-ins with gilt frame of fillet lines and a pin-dot roll, with corner fleurons; doublure of tan watered silk; free endpapers lined with tan watered silk; board edges gilt with a double-line fillet; top edge gilt; teal ribbon marker; three-color silk endband; signed "Gruel" at tail end of upper turn-in; original wrappers bound in.
