Edition Notes
"Poems by Kwame Dawes in response to the Vallarta drawings by Jon Gregg"--Chapbook title page.
Edition limited to 100 copies signed by poet and artist.
Numbered leaves are printed recto and verso.
"In 2012, whilst at the Vermont Studio Center, Kwame Dawes saw a set of twenty-four Vallarta Drawings VSC Founder Jon Gregg had made in the town of Punta Del Burro, outside of Puerto Vallarta Mexico. He requested and received a set of the photocopies and subsequently wrote poems around the drawings directly on the 11x17 sheets. Kwame has described his process in the accompanying chapbook of the edited poems. The original drawings were scanned and then printed with an Epson SureColor P600 on Mohawk Via Vellum Flax 65lb Cover Paper. Kwame's original holograph was scanned and prepared in the computer for polymer plates that were made by Boxcar Press and were printed letterpress by Andrew Miller-Brown. Amber Holden and Linda Lembke provided bindery assistance; the covers are Canal paper from St Armand Papeterie in Montreal. The cover of the chapbook is handmade St Armand linen and the paper is handmade Japanese Kozo Natural in two different makings. The text is set in Gill Sans printed letterpress by Andrew Miller-Brown. The maple sides of the box were made by Jack Sumberg; the cover is Barcham Green Renaissance IV and Twinrocker Black Abaca; the slipcase covered with Gruppo Cordenons Bakri paper was made by Judy Conant in Maidstone Vermont."--Colophon.
