The Liberty Tower, one of the early group of romantic skyscrapers, was sold to the Sinclair Oil Company in 1919 and for awhile was known as the Sinclair Oil Building. It was sold in 1945 and Liberty Tower continued to be used for offices until 1979 in which it was converted to co-operative apartments.
