Manigat (1930), well-known Haitian historian who was elected 39th president of Haiti in 1988, the choice of Haiti's military government who ruled for two years following the exile of former dictator Jean-Claude (Baby Doc) Duvalier. Shortly after, in the same year, Manigat was deposed by the same military.
