Vartolomei Măzăreanu belongs to the Putna school (he became an abbot of Putna monastery between 1755-1763, but also of the Solca monastery between 1768-1774), being a cultivated personality of Moldova from the second half of the 18th century, a scholar with various knowledge. He was known as one of the most prolific scribes, translators (especially from Slavonic and Russian) and compilers of didactic and religious works, with some additions of a historical nature. "The Ithical Irotic Manuscript or the Teaching Philosophy" is the translation, in 1764, of the Cyrillic script of the archimandrite Vartolomei Măzăreanu after a collection of aphorisms and moral teachings, which was printed in 1712 ... This kind of work has a catechetical role, being intended - as an edifying moral literature, with a clear devotional purpose - to become for a young man the "religious way" of life
