This zine was produced as a final project for a freshman writing seminar at the City College of New York. Focused on the Green Movement, the Green Guerillas, Puerto Rican Unions, and the experiences of Puerto Rican laborers and the racism they experienced in unions with white laborers, Weiner provides a comprehensive account of the Pueto Rican labor movement in the U.S. at the turn of the 19th and through the 20th century. The front cover is white with a multicolored crayon-like image depicting the Puerto Rican Labor struggle. Each page contains a crayon illustration depicting the historical event paired with the corresponding text. Puerto Rico’s Quest for Recognition is binded with white yarn and is accompanied with the assignment rubric.
