Rare Book (Offsite) copy: Bound with other titles

Justification of the famous Act of Seclusion, which was enacted by the States of Holland in May 1654 and came to be accepted as the position of the United Provinces as a whole. The Act promised that no member of the House of Orange would ever be accepted as stadholder or Captain-General, a condition for peace with England required by the Protector Oliver Cromwell.

30 lines on title page (compare with Knuttel 7545, with 20 lines and Knuttel 7546, with 22 lines).

T.p. vignette shows Dutch lion without border or garden.
