Orna Wertman's photographic landscapes mislead the eye. The keen observer will notice that things are not quite what they seem, which in turn makes them intriguing. Wertman combines landscapes in a way that goes unnoticed until the smallest details become visible. For this series, she took old vacation snapshots from her own family albums and similar photos found at flea markets, cutting them up and repasting the pieces into new collages. With one landscape transposed upon another, an alternate ambiance emerges.
