For the first time, the best photographs of the Caribbean Leo Matiz (b. Colombia) together in one volume. This selection evidences the convergence between Matiz and author Gabriiel Garcia Marquez. In addition to the photographs, the volume includes texts by Gerald Martin, Laura Restrepo, Miguel Ángel Flórez and Ernesto Peñalosa, who analyse the meeting points between the works of these two great artists and the influence of Macondo on their work. For Gerard Martin, biographer of Garcia Marquez, "it is clear that Aracataca was the inspiration of Macondo, although naturally we must always remember that Macondo is, in the end, a place of the imagination."
