This book accounts for the architectural patrimony of the Cauca River Valley, considered national heritage by the Columbian State, and is the outcome of a research that started in 2013, with the propose of understanding the real state of the constructions. The government has custody of these built patrimonies and is the one in charge of their conservation and restoration. "The haciendas of the Cauca Valley, witness to our history, have been displaced by urban growth, and those left that are not productive are doomed to abandonment and ruin; urban centers prioritize speed and progress over memory."
