Edition Notes

"Newcastle, and Wallsend, where I grew up, were the center of the global shipbuilding industry, England's jewel in the great industrial era. In its last act, as the 20th century transformed from an age of iron to one of silicon, the powerful industrial North lost its place as the dominant force in the shipbuilding arts. The story of The Last Ship is about the community of tradesmen who presided over the shipyards' last days, about the families whose lives were overturned by a massive wave of 'progress.' "--Foreword by Sting

"Eighty-five copies ... were printed in the fall of 2015. The [woodblocks were carved] by Stephen Hannock ... The design and typography were conceived by Russell Maret ... The presswork was executed by Arthur Larson at Horton Tank Graphics. The box and chemise were created by Claudia Cohen ..."--Colophon.

Foreword by Sting and Artist's note by Stephen Hannock. Each print is titled, numbered, and signed by Hannock on the verso. Correction to colophon wording is laid in, along with a "suggested print order."
