A collaboration between the historian Michel Soukar and the musical group led by André Maxime Percy, this book and CD tell the story of Simon Bolivar's welcome and support in 1815/1816 by the Haitian city of Cayes. The folk songs included on the CD were originally collected by Maxime Percy's late father, Ewald Percy, a native of Camp-Perrin, and are now reinterpreted by Maxime Percy and his group Jardin Folklorique. The book includes a history of Bolivar's relationship with Cayes, as well as an interview with Soukar and Ewald Percy, and the lyrics to some of the folk songs collected by the latter.
