The Mystery of the Black Sea establishes a connection between the Romanian carols that have as their theme the sea and the contemporary discoveries of marine archeology. Using an anthology of texts, the author tries to prove that the Black Sea had an important role in the dynamics of the traditional Romanian civilization and culture, which remained in the memory of the peasants, being present even today in carol texts.
