The present monograph of the architectural work of Hernán Herrera Mendoza seeks to fill a persistent historiographical vacuum in the Colombian architecture of the second half of the twentieth century. It should be noted that Hernán Herrera, winner of a National Architecture Award (CAFAM College in Bogotá, 1971), a Honorable Mention (Staggered Homes, 1970) and 10 First Prizes in 15 professional contests, was certainly a notable architect, for Have obtained such distinctions. The fertile and outstanding professional activity of Hernán Herrera spanned more than half a century, from 1954 to 2006. Fifty years of career of Hernán Herrera Mendoza, mostly recognized for his academic work rather than his architecture legacy, despite noted examples of modern architecture particularly in the City of Bogota.
