Text by Fermín Muguruza and Harkaitz Cano; Images by Jorge Alderete.
Also published in Barcelona by Bang in 2015.
The story behind the creation of this work began when Fermin Muguruza became intrigued after finding a 1965 press photo of New York's Columbus Day parade down Fifth Avenue. As part of the New York World's Fair's theme of "Peace Through Understanding," the famous Fiesta de San Fermín papier-mâché "Giants of Pamplona" had been invited to march. Muguruza realized that his country's two black statues had been left behind in Spain and that only statues from Europe, Asia and Africa with white skin tones were in the parade.
Spanish and some English.
