This volume studies the motet of the 13th century through analysis of the music in the manuscript H 196 of Montpellier. This manuscript was assembled between 1250 and 1300 at the abbey of Saint-Germain d'Auxerre in Bourgogne. The volume concludes with an edition of 22 of these polyphonic motets.
