How can we develop eco-efficient infrastructure in Asia

water infrastructure-cased

Many countries in Asia region recognized the urgent need to transform their economic-social structure and development paradigm to overcome a set of crises, which transformation does not happen 'naturally' or 'automatically', it is not clear where and how to move forward. As a practical solutions, based on historical study and the analysis for emerging challenges, government of developing countries should establish long term economic growth strategy by synchronizing the infrastructure development with specific goals of national development plans such as green growth, promote eco-efficiency in the national development planning process of infrastructure, and foster the collective capacity and institution building for planning and implementing eco-efficient infrastructure development in the 21st century as enabling conditions.
