"The following two letters ... apperaed in the 'Leeds Intelligencer' of Dec. 1, 1831, and were written in reply to the misrepresentations and aspersions of the 'Leeds Mercury', the objects of which were, a defence of the sahmeful abandonment of Sir J.C. Hobhouse's Bill, and to spread an impression that a Ten-Hour-Bill is neither politic nor practicable."
